October 2002.  While bowhunting in Camp Ripley, Mike Lindquist located this nice shed antler in the leaf-covered forest floor.  Although it's still a younger buck, it demonstrates a thick base, a distinct characteristic of the Ripley herd.

August 2002.  Mike Lindquist discovered this big buck while camping in the Superior National Forest.  This 12-point mainframe died of old age.  The rack scored 148 3/8" and had lots of character: stickers all over the bases, bladed points, split tines, non-typical growth starting out of the main beams and lots of mass.

May 2002.  Matt, Mike, Hannah and Lena came across this giant, year-old whitetail shed while spring scouting in a secluded buck hermitage near Park Rapids, MN.  With a single antler score of 74 5/8" inches typical, it puts this monster in the 165"-170"class.  That's Boone & Crockett. This is close to the largest shed antler found in Clearwater County.  With any luck, this big guy is still on the hoof, adding mass.

The following day, Matt, Mike and Lena headed out to the same forty in search of the matching left side.  After combing the area, they came up with this little basket-rack, which was also more than one year old.  It made a nice door handle for the sauna.

May 2002.  Mike Lindquist piled 'em up one morning while shed hunting near Golden Valley, MN.  The jackpot = 2 fours and 2 fives, all singles. Good timing: we needed some towel hooks in the newly constructed log sauna.

May 2002.  Mike Lindquist found this deer kill near some railroad tracks in Golden Valley, MN.  It scored 80 5/8 inches.

April 2002.  Check out this black bear track, spotted by Hannah Miller near Park Rapids, MN.  Uncle Tim caught site of him last spring and pegged him at about 300 pounds, give or take - a real bruin.  We'll probably get after him one of these years.

April 2002.  Matt and Mike Lindquist found these whitetail sheds in the Minnesota River Valley.  This unique matching set was found less than 10 feet apart.  With an estimated spread of 13 inches, this set would score 90 4/8 inches, despite the lack of brow tines.

February 2002. Stephanie Potter found a dandy matched set on the North Shore near Two Harbors. Nearly a year had gone by before she was able to complete the pair. Now that's determination!  This giant set scores 1511/8". You add an approximate spread of 19" and you've got a Boone & Crockett buck. Great find!
