It was a very quiet morning when I heard several deer walking around me. There was one in the area that I could hear what sounded like antlers touching the trees.  It took about a half an hour, but he eventually came out of the cover. To my surprise, it was definitely a buck, a shooter buck. I had one chance to stop him before he disappeared into a large swamp. I made a grunt, but he didn't stop. On my second grunt he stopped and gave me about an 80 yard shot. I took him through the lungs and he ran about 100 yards. When I walked up on him I was surprised at what a heavy, dark-racked monster he turned out to be.

*Webmaster's note: I had the opportunity to score this buck, and holy smokes, what a rack! Just over 21 inches of inside spread, 28 inch main beams and 40 inches of mass measurements. A very even ten point with only 4 inches and change in deductions. Wow.
