This early season bow kill was taken on an evening hunt. The buck was travelling alone to a freshly logged clearcut with foodplots planted. This pre-rut buck was at his prime body weight, tipping the scale at 295 pounds, field dressed. That's one huge deer. Incidentally, this was the hunter's first bow kill. He got it with the first arrow he ever released at a deer, the day after his wedding.
